It might come from wedding work or photographing my own kids? But what I have noticed is that you just need to slow down and aim to have fun, eg... here Rey is giving me her best piranha impersonation. It's just games and patience... then the shots come.

So what’s this “fine art” thing I keep talking abo So what’s this “fine art” thing I keep talking about?
.
Most shoots are basically documentary: we meet at a location, find some nice light, run through poses, and grab good moments on the day. It’s based on a category (family, maternity, couples, etc).
.
With fine art, the idea is more specific and planned. Before we shoot, I’ll pin down:
- the feeling (and sometimes the tension),
- who is in the images,
- how we’ll show it (light, place, wardrobe),
- and what we’re making at the end (files, prints, wall piece) and why.
.
That might sound a bit “in my head” (sorry, I have an engineer brain…), but the good news is, that part is my job.
.
Once the concept is clear, everything else flows from it, the prompts I give, how the pictures look, and the kind of outcome we’re aiming for.
.
Right now I’m doing a series of shoots to test this process, figure out packages, and build examples. I’m really excited about where it’s going. If you’d like to be part of that testing phase, send me a message.
I love the gentle hand touch... I find I am seeing I love the gentle hand touch... I find I am seeing my shots differently at the moment... in a good way
