Your Boudoir Photoshoot Guide
LET’S TALK…
In my experience, there are two types of questions people ask before a boudoir shoot. Some are practical, what should I wear, what will the photos look like, can I bring a friend? All of that is answered below.
The second kind is more emotional: Will I look good? Will I feel awkward? These are normal. My answer is simple, your session is private, collaborative, and focused entirely on making you feel safe, seen, and celebrated. I’m looking for light on your hair, the curve of your neck, the sparkle in your eyes, not whatever your inner critic whispers in the mirror. This is for you, and it will be OK.

WHAT TO EXPECT: THE PROCESS
- We usually go through 2–3 outfits during your session.
- We start more dressed and transition through outfit changes or levels of reveal.
- The first 10–15 minutes might feel a little odd, then it becomes more natural.
- I’ll guide you the whole way, and we’ll pause anytime you need to.
LOCATIONS
Mini Studio
MAXIMUM PRIVACY AND COMFORT
A small private space in central Hamilton with natural light and studio options. Great rain or shine. Includes music, a place to change, and total privacy.
Nature
BEAUTIFUL ORGANIC SETTINGS
If you love the idea of shooting in the forest, on a beach, or near a waterfall, we can do that. We’ll aim for early morning or off-peak times for privacy.
A Place
FOR SOMETHING UNIQUE
Have access to a cool space? Think your home, a styled Airbnb, theatre, or old building. These add story and texture to your session.
Style
How do you want the final shots to look, maybe a mixture?
Dark and moody
Focused, emotional, and rich with shadow. Great for creating mystery and depth, showing only what you want.
Light and bright
Airy, soft, and expressive. Ideal for a dreamy, fresh, or joyful vibe. Pairs well with laughter and play.
What should I wear?
Choose things that make you feel amazing.
Treat yourself!
Wear what makes you feel amazing, not what you think you should wear. Popular ideas:
- Lingerie (matching sets or mix-and-match)
- Oversized shirts or sweaters
- Robes, bodysuits, or kimonos
- Body jewellery, garters, or stockings
- Just jeans. Just a sheet. Or nothing at all.
Choose items that fit well, feel great, and express your mood.
DEFINING THE TONE OF YOUR SESSION
ur tone is the emotional vibe of the shoot. Do you want to feel:
Soft and romantic?
Bold and sensual?
Fun, flirty, and cheeky?
We’ll talk about this before the shoot, but feel free to share images you like to help clarify the tone.
