The theme of vintage photography covers a few different sub-styles. Pinup or cheesecake, normally shot on a coloured backdrop under studio lights. Siren, which is a dark moody glamour type style. And lifestyle photography, which is shot in an environment that reflects the era eg with vintage cars or a deco house etc
I am a relaxed photographer. We are going for interesting and cool results which will come half from me and half from you. I like natural light but if that’s not right for the theme then we can rock the studio lights.
As well as getting nice photos, you should have fun during the shoot. Most people are not models so I can give some direction and posing suggestions, and also you should pick a theme that isn’t a lot different from who you are as a person. You know your personality and who you secretly desire to be, thats the person we are photographing on the day, not your regular self.

Vintage Photography FAQ
What does it cost?
It depends on the time and effort put into the shoot. Typically a photoshoot is 1 hour of shooting, and 3 hours of professional editing, so falls under my half-day rate on my pricing page. The cost can go up if more time is needed either for shooting or special edits.
How do I book?
Just send me a message, but make sure you mention your preferred date so I can check my calendar and the theme or style you are wanting. A $50 non-refundable deposit is needed to confirm your booking.
How do I select a vintage photographer?
Have a look at each photographer’s examples and make sure you like the style of the pictures they make generally. You want to make sure you have similar tastes to them as well as see people they shoot with a similar style to you. Maybe follow them on social media to see consistency and their personality.
What if I need to change the date or cancel?
You will lose your deposit if you cancel the shoot after booking. Other money paid will be refunded (unless costs have been incurred eg hiring a location).
How do I prepare for the shoot?
I work with all sorts of people. People can be relaxed or detail orientated, but everyone needs to go into the shoot with an understanding of the theme. The best way to do that is by having a chat at the time of booking and to look at similar results by me. The main things you will need to decide on is the location and wardrobe. I can help out with posing and direction at the shoot if I know what you are hoping for as a result.
When will I get the photos?
I normally send through everything within a week but will let you know if that’s not going to be achievable.
How many photos do I get from a vintage photography session?
People sometimes want to know how many photos and it’s really hard to estimate as it depends a lot on you and what happens during the shoot time.
